HEAD START SCHOOL BASED APPRENTICE OR TRAINEE PROGRAM

Head Start is a new model of school-based training that aims to provide students with increased work exposure.  It targets priority industries and traditional trades, offering students the ability to experience a trade and gain valuable experience in a competitive job market.  This enables secondary school students to stay at school an extra year to finish their VCAL, VCE or apprenticeship, or if commencing in Year 9 can complete the studies over 3 years.

The Department of Education & Training is seeking horticulture employers to participate in the Program which will commence in 2019.

Keep a watch out for an email to all STA (Vic) members shortly that will provide more detail and call for Expressions of Interest from potential employers.
